PHYSICAL TRAINING

NEW MANUAL FOR TEACHERS. WELLINGTON, December 2. With the object of improving the physical stamina of school children throughout the Dominion, the Education Department is making a special effort to increase the scope, of the physical training system. A new manual for the guidance of teachers will be issued at the beginning of the year, and training college students will apply themselves to a knowledge of this science as part of the ing course. It is anticipated that about two hundred teachers will attend the teachers’ annual summer school of instruction, which this season will be held at Whangarpi. A feature of the school will be the presence of Mr M. P. Hansen, Director of Education in Victoria.
