CAR CONVERSION
HAWERA COMPLAINT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) HAWERA, December 6. A Maori youth, Rangi Aka, was sentenced to-day to two months’ gaol .‘or, the conversion of a motor, and was ordered to pay £5 damages. The defen b ant admitted having taken the car from a street parking place on the evening of November 21, and then diivirg it to Eithani, where he struck the footpath kerbing in trying to turn. Sergeant Henry said that since January there had been 21 cases of unauthorised removal of cars in Hawera. The defendant was the sixth to be punished.
