“Laurence Oswald Coulton. Died, November 24 1931. Aged 24 years,” Such was the inscription on the coffin of the man who was shot dead at the branch office of the Bank of New Zealand at Remuera last Tuesday. * The coffin was carried this afternoon in a motor hearse from the premises of Watney Sibun, Ltd., Khyber Pass Road, to the Papaluira Cemetery, where the interment took p'ace with the funeral rites of the Church of England.
A few curious spectators assembled outside the undertakers’ premises. Two bunches of flowers, roses, lilies and ferns, lay on each side of the coffin, but there was no card attached to either.
