DETERMINED EFFORTS MADE. TROOPS DISPATCHED TO SCENE. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telograph.—-Copyright.) (Received this at 10.15 a.m.) CALCUTTA, December 1. To assist the police in the task of cleaning up the district, half the troops of Mahrattas and Gurksas, as well as armed police, have been transferred to Chittagong, the scene of the gjrent armoury raid, eighteen months ago, which lias since been the seat of the anarchist movement. It is hoped that the general public, who have been terrorised into secret tolerance of anarchist activities, will co-operate.
