Cambridge defeated Oxford by 4 to 3 in the relay races, in which an automatic starting gate was used for the first time in .the hurdles. Results were.:— 440 yards: Cambridge won by three yards, time 38 9-10 secs. Two miles: Oxford won hv 45 yards, jn the record time of 478 4 Ssecs. Half mile: Cambridge won by 20 yard-s, time, 103 3-osecs. Quarter mile, high hurdles : Cambridge won by 25 yards, time 04 2 Ssecs. Four miles: Oxford (including Lovelock of. Otago), won by 30 yards in the record time of 1069 9.Msecs. Mile: Oxford won by 40 yards in 202 2-osees, which is a University record.
