WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25th
A special programme in commemoration of St .Andrew's Day, is to be broadcast by IVA this evening. The whole entertainment- will be given by the Caledonian Concert Party and' shomd appeal to all Scots and lovers <jf".Scottish entertainment. The ' programme will consist ol pipe music, vocal solos and plenty of Scottish humour.
Dr Guy H. Scholefiold, 0.8. K.. wdl be the lecturer on 2YA’s International Programme,
The Christchurch Orchestral Society’s third concert of the season will be broadcast by 3YA on relay from the Radiant Had. As usual, a particularly attractive programme will be presented. The assisting artists will be Airs F Nelson Kerr •(contralto), Mr M. E. Withers (clarinet), a, string quartet (Misses F. Nolan, L. R. Robertson and I*. Stringer and Mr C. R. Moon) with the choir of the Holy Trinity Church, Avonside. 4YA's .concert programme will be devoted to, a presentation of the principal excerpts from Lehar’s light opera "The Merry Widow.” The cast of characters comprises Miss Alae Matheson, •Miss Margaret Green, Mr H. Johnston and Air C. S. Hawes. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26th. lVA’s broadcast this evening will be devoted to a relay from the Auckland, Town Had of a concert by the Royal Auckland Choir, conducted by Dr A,. W. Thomas. Many interesting items will be given. The soloists include Mrs F. J. ,Ewen, Air Arthur Ripley, and Air W. Gemmell. ' A" From 2\ r A this evening at 7.40, Dr Findlay, Aledical Officer ot the Health Department, will give a leciureite entitled "Personal and'.'Community Health —past and present.” The programme to be presented from 2YA .studio will feature 'the Etude OuaCet in excerpts from "The Quakei Girl ” All the principal solos, duels and quartettes from this popular musical comedy will be included. Aiiss Oracle Kerr and Air James Cooke will uelight listeners, in two humorous sketches. The Salon Orchestra will supply the incidental music. The lecturer on 3YA’s International Programme will be Air L. R. R. Denny, M.A., R.R.H.S., speaking on “AngloFrench Relationships. ’ 'Silent day at 4YA. '
