Holland, the Labour Leader, addressed a packed house here to-night, there being also a crowd listening to him through loud speakers in the street. Air Holland made reference to the speech of Air Downie Stewart the previous night at Dunedin. He said that, in common with the utterances of AllForbes and Air Coates, that of Air Stewart betrayed complete bankruptcy in the matter of policy. A vote of thanks and of confidence in the Labour Party and the Labour candidate was carried almost unanimously by the meeting. AIR COATES’S VIEW, OPPOSITION AT MEETINGS NOT OBSTRUCTION. Air John Menzies, Coalition candidate for Duller electorate, opened his campaign last evening at Hector and Seddonville, coal mining towns, receiv. mg an excellent reception, a vote being carried of thanks and confidence at Seddonville. He urged the use of more New Zealand coal. He said that wharfage and freightage charges should be lowered, and more activity displayed in gold mining. He stated the New Zealand employment system was superior to that of any other country. He favoured an overhauling and remodelling of the Arbitration Court.

Mr K. AlcLennan, Independent candidate for Wellington Suburbs, outlining his policy, said he would support the Coalition as against the Labour Party, but would reserve the right to vote against the proposals he considered not in the best interests of the country, HUTT. WELLINGTON, Nov. 24. Air James Kerr, Coalition candidate for Hutt, criticised the attitude of the Labour Party, and said Air Holland had been invited to join the Coalition, hut hod declined, By his action, lie had shown the people that he would rather stick to party warfare, than assist in helping the country j.n the time of need. LABOUR PARTY ATTITUDE. WELLINGTON, Nov. 14. Mr Walter Nash, the Labour candidate for Hutt, said that as the Secretary of tile Labour Party, he could give the assurance that no member of the Labour Party would countenance at any time any interruption of any candidate’s meeting. No friends of the Labour • Party, ■said Air Nash, would stop anybody, from stating lus ease.
