WASTE REVEALED
FEDERAL FARM BOARD. GIGANTIC REVOLVING FUND. (United. Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.; (Received this day at 9.25 a.m) WASHINGTON, November 24. Spectacular and costly; operations oi the Federal Farm-Board, are revealed in the annual report before the Senate of the Agricultural Committee, of its five hundred million dollay revolving fund, following.upon expenditure:made. The Board purchased . 329,641,00 U bushels of wheat for 270,804,000 dollars, 179,656,000 bushels remaining unsold on November Ist. The Board paid an average price of 81.97 cents per bushel as against the present cash price of approximately 55 cents. The Board purchased 1,319,000 bales of cotton at a cost of 107,533,000 dollars, and still holds approximately the entire quantity. The Board paid an average price of 16.3 cents per pound, whereas the present price is only slightly over 6 cents. The Boaird loaned out for wheat, stabilisation 160,149,000 dollars, and for cotton stabilisation 74,954,000 dollars. The net estimates are given as to the Board’s probable total losses.
