PINTO WINS
| ALLEY THROWN TWICE. Ur (By telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 23. In two straight falls, obtained in the fourth and fifth rounds, Stamey Pinto, 14.3, defeated Tom Alley, 13.(5, in thei final of the* New Zealand heavyweight wrestling championship, before a large audience in the Town Hall tonight. Alley nearly had his man with his famous crucifix hold in the third round, but Pinto spun like a Catherine < */‘wheel completely around the ring, and, finally escaped by struggling through the ropes. • \ ■ In the fourth round, Pinto took the aggresfjive, and, applying headloeks, dumped his man heavily twice, the second time securing a fall with a body press. It was evident that Alley was groggy as lie came out for the fifth round,* and Pinto, with fierce headlocks, soon subdued his man, securing ! a. second fall soon after the round ~ commenced.
