THOUGHTS OF THE TIMES.
THE LABOUR MANIFESTO. The New Zealand political Labour Party’s election manifesto sounds •quite possible, but so did Jack Lang’s in New South Wales. The people in that State fell for the honeyed words and instead of decreasing unemployment Labour in power increased it, lost the people their savings, and generally messed things up. What proof have the workers of the Dominion that fhe . New Zealand political Labour Party, will be one whit different from Langism in New 'South Wales if it succeeded to power? When in doubt it is bettor to stick t-o the d-'- il you know than the devil you don't k"o\v. The National Government mav not be a wonder, but at any rate it is better than Langism. —~.Z.
