MINISTERIAL VISIT
Advice has been received that the Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, purposes visiting the electorate on Monday, November 30th. This will be the lion, gentleman’s first visit to Westland. He occupies a prominent position in the Cabinet,, and during the absence of Mr Forbe s in England was Acting-Prime Minister. Mr Ransom is a good speaker, and a special authority cn all matters relating to farming, and during his visitwill probably take the opportunity of meeting as many farmers a s possible. His tour, as at present tentatively arranged, is as follows: To be met at Otira by Mr J. W. Greenslade, Coalition candidate. Mr ITansom w’Jt probably speak briefly at Otira. He will be motored down the Chr‘tehurch Road to Kurnara, where he will speak at 5 p.m. Hokitika is to be reached about 6.30, and he will speak from the pavil'lion, Cass at that hour. At 8.30, he will address a public meeting in 'the Town Hall at Greymouth.
Mr Greenslade will accompany the Hon. Minister as far as Hokitika, and will then go on to Ross, where he will address the electors at 8.30 in the Totnra Hall. The next day, Mr Greeilslade will tour the electorate',, and make hi s final address at Greymdiitll at §.30, on the eve of the poll. During next week, Mr’ Greenslade will tour the Otira line ar.d the Grey Valley, having n very full' round « engagements. Mr Greenslade holds several meetings to-dav, and tomorrow will be in the Kumara district, speaking at the Memorial Hall in the evening.
