A romance associated with the ’Sultan 'Sir Ibrahim Jahore and Helen Wilson, the daughter of a Kilmarnock (Scotland) business man, was consummiated Gy a 'picturesque and magnificent spectacle at the Sultan’s palace, where 'the glittering, .graceful figure of Helen, who was formerly the wife of a young doctor practising in her present husband’s domain, became Sultana over 350 thousand Malay and Chinese subjects. The Sultana, who is * a beautiful blonde, showed traces of nervousness w hen she was seated on a throne, surrounded by the splendour of the Sultan’s wealthy State. She was the cynosure of all eyes. She affirmed hei readiness ’to wear the Crown Bermisuri of Johore, and to fol.ibw Malay customs arid Malay religious usage., The Sultan, who is fifty-eight years tfif age, has visited Australia, and he is famed here as a big game shot. He is an expert rubber planter, and he trains his own racehorses and ponies.
