Evelyn' Muriel Mitts, a married woman ‘of 5, Butler Street, Tiinaru, was killed at the Waihi River this afternoon, when a large bough of a willow '(tree under which she was sitting suddenly snapped off and fell upon ilier. ■ Death was instantaneous. A woman companion, three feet away from Mrs Mills, was uninjured. W|ith her husband, Mr David Mills, a'ccjrajpanion, and some Mrs Millfettfas spending the day at the river, While her husband was away securing firewood, Mrs Mills and her companion sat under the tree. The body was brought to Timaru. where an inquest will be held on Monday.
