PINTO DEFEATS MEESKE. (By Telegraph—Per Pres*. Association’ AUCKLAND, November 16. At the Auckland Town Hall last evening. Stanley Pinto. 'The Nebraska Wildcat,” defeated Billy Meeske, the Australian, by a penalty fall to nil. In the sixth round Meeske knocked P’vto out by kicking him on the chm with his knee and the referee immediately awarded a penalty tall to the Nebraskan. The boot went the full eight rounds, with Meeske doing most of the attacking. In the last round Meeske threw Pinto -with a succession of headlocks and made him very groggy, but Pinto held on to the ropes repeatedly and prevented the -'Australian from gaining a. fall. Ihe match was a very exciting one and during the last round Pinto, who is. as popular as •the plague in Auckland,’was frequently hooted for his questionable tactics in holding on to the ropes.
