DISARMAMENT

At a large meeting in the Sydney ■Town Hall to-night, a resolution was passed! . welcoming the forthcoming Disarmament Conference, and urging the Governments to do all in their power to bring about a reduction in the military, naval, and air forces in the world. The speakers were the Prime Minister (Mr Soullin), Mr Theodore (Federal Treasurer), Mr Latham, and Mr Bavin.

It was announced that a petition was being prepared, and had already been signed by 98,000 persons in favour of disarmament. The objective was 100,000 signatories.
