CLOUDBURSTS
TWO IN TARANAKI. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WANGANUI, November 15. Report have just come to hand of two cloudbursts of unusuaL severity in the back country about twenty miles from Raetihi causing unknown damage to the roads, estimated at over two thousand sterling. The storm centres were at Ruatiti and Pukekaka. One settler, whose property was on the fringe of two storm areas, said that some of his sheep were flattened to the ground by water, which seemed to pour off. the black clouds.
Communication ‘with the districts can only be effected by pedestrians, and the real extent of the damage is yet unknown v . !s . _„ r , The Waimarino County Engineer says that it will be at least three months before a track can be cut which will enable wool to be brought out.
