TO BRITISH TARIFF. [United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—jCopyright.] ‘ l PARIS, November 14. A French Government decree announces a fifteen per cent, surtax against English and Australian imports ; and a seven per cent. tax against .Indian imports. The Government’s action is the result of the Empire countries’ depre-
ciated currencies.
There are exemptions, which include the goods that have hitherto beetl exempted from duty, also goods for which' a world market exists, and. the market price for which. Is';not in* financed by the variations in the nn* tionai currencies, also goods shipped) or bonded, before November 12th. ‘ France' has thus anticipated a British tariff with V bargaining weapon.
