AIR GREEN SLADE'S CANDIDATURE

Mr J. W. Greenslade (Coalition candidate for 'Westland) will address the electors at Totara Hall, Ross, to-night at 8 o'clock. On Monday night he speaks at Matainui and on Tuesday at Rarihari. AT KOITERANGI. Air Greenslade opened his campaign at Koiterangi Public Hall last evening. There was a good attendance in spite of the short notice given of the metting. Air W. A. Jamieson took the Chair and stated that though Air Greenslade might not be .known to them personally ho would be favourably known, to them by repute as a man prominent in local politics. Air Greenslade spoke,, for half an hour on various matters and at tne conclusion of his address Air A. little moved a vote of thanks which was seconded by Air Oliver Cock. This was carried with acclamation. AT KOKATAHI. Air Greenslade then left for Kokatahi when Air T. O’Neil was voted ■to the' Chair. Mr Greenslade spoke there for an hour and received a capital reception. At the conclusion of the address Mf Mark Wallace asked a number of questions which were satisfactorily answered. Mr J. Fleming also put a question, A vote of thanks and confidence was moved by Air Fleming, seconded by Air R. Meharry and carried by ac* damnation. 1

There was a fair attendance at- the meeting of supporters of Air J. W. Greenslade at the Town Hall, last night. The Mayor ('Mr G. ‘A. Perry) presided and stated that Air Greenslade was the official Coalition candidate, and that the meeting had been called to form a committee to further his candidature. A general committee of all present was set up, with Alessrs S. J. Preston, F. 'McGregor and W. E. 'Richards as an executive. It was stated that Air Leslie Michel would act as Secretary of the committee. Arrangements for the public address by Mr Greenslade at Princess Theatre on Thursday evening next were left to the executive to arrange.
