INDIAN SENTENCED. ' . FOR WOUNDING MERCHANT. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph .—Copyright.) CALCUTTA, November 12. Bliimal Das .Gupta, who shot and wounded Edward Villiers, a Calcutta merchant, on 29th of October, was ■sentenced by a special tribunal to ten years’ rigorous imprisonment.
SOVIET PEASANTS. SEIZE FOOD SUPPLIES. CONSTANTINOPLE, November 12. Faced.with a shortage of flour, peasants in Simbirsh ®rea, Volga, seized several railway stations to prevent the removal of ■ wheat stored there. The (Soviet promptly sent an armoured train and bombarded the obstructors whom storm troops are now dispersing. A 'fleet- of aeroplanes is being organised to deal with similar outbreaks.
