PARTY LEADERS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, November l'S. The Prim© Minister*, Eight Hon. (Mr Forbes, leaves here for. the south to-night. He will be attending the Christchurch Show to-morrow. He will then return to his home at Cheviot, and he will commence his campaign at Rangiora on Tuesday night, and will then embark on an electoral tour of the country, commencing in the south. Right Hon. J. G. Coates is returning directly to his electorate at Kal‘para. Later, he is setting out on u tour through the Dominion.

The Leader of the Opposition,' Mr H. E. Holland, who left here for Weistport last night, will commence his tour' of the Dominion at Christchurch on Monday. Mr Holland is speaking at Invercargill on Wednesday night, at Waitaki on Thursday afternoon, and at Oamaru on Thursday night, and at Waimate and 'Pimaru on Friday. Mr Holland will then leave for Wellington to commence his tour of the North Island. It lias been arranged, during the absence from Wellington of the Ministers of the Crown, engaged in the electoral campaign, that Hon. Mr Cobbe will attend to the Government business at Parliament House.

COALITION CANDIDATES. WELLINGTON, November 12. The Prime Minister, Mr Forbes, and Mr J. G. Coates announced to-day the following have been approved as Offi--1 cial Coalition candidates for the forthcoming election :—J. ; S. Butler, Napier ; H. E. Everett, Nelson; W. J. Poison, Stratford ; T. Forsyth, Wellington East; J. W. Greenslade, W’estland. , MR DONALD RETIRES. AUCKLAND, November 12. Mr J. B. Donald, former PostmasterGeneral, and member for Auckland East, announced to-night that he would not be a candidate at the General Election.

AT INVERCARGILL. INVERCARGILL, November 12. There was a meeting here of the supporters of Mr W. McChesney to-night. The candidate announced himself as standing in Liberal interests, and said that he would -support the Coalition Government on a vote of no-confidence, but: he reserved the right to vote as he desired on all other matters. It is understood that Colonel . Hargest will carry Ifche Reform Party’s banner in the Invercargill election. Mr W. G. Denham is the Labour candidate for the Invercargill seat.'

OAMABS? CONTEST. OAMARU, November 12, At a meeting of the Reform supporters here to-night of Mr John Kirkness, who was selected as the official candidate before the formation of the Coalition, announced his continued intention of contesting the Oamaru seat against Mr McPherson, the Coalitionist candidate.

The decision of Mr Kirkness had the unanimous support of the meeting.

eltham contest. NEW PLYMOUTH, November 12. There was a meeting of United Party supporters hefd in Eltham this evening. The meeting passed the following resolution: “That this meeting of the United Party supporters in Egmont, after carefully considering the political situation, is of the opinion that jEgmont and the Dominion have been well and faithfully served by the present member, Mr Wilkinson. This meeting pledges itself to the utmost possible to secure Mr Wilkinson’s return.”

The Coalition candidate for Egmont is 'Mr F. Gawith.

Mr J. W. M’Millan announced his candidature for the Stratford seat as a Reform Coalitionist. Mr Chas. Croall of Mahoenui, will stand for Labour, making four in the field, the others being Mr Poison, «n<l Mr S. H. Moss (Independent). OTAKI SEAT. WELLINGTON, November 12. Mr James Thorn, the official Labour candidate for the Otaki seat, addressed a meeting at Johnsonvilie.
