FALSE RE PE ESENTATIOAS. TWO MONTHS’ GAOL IMPOSED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, N o v. 12. Described by the police as a. very plausible, and ■well-educated man, Wililam Biddulph Blackwood, who defrauded a Wellington baarding-honse keeper, by rrepesenting that he was the Marquis of DufFerin, was sen-* fenced by Mr Page S.M. to two months’ imprisonment. Blackwood was further alleged to have lived at a Christchurch, hoarding house for fourteen months without paying his board, and in connection with the matter, he was remanded to appear alt Christchurch on a charge of obtaining £lO from Kate Bates by falsely representing he was a- brother to the Marquis of Dufferin and had J interests in the Olandeboye Estate. |
