RESULT OF ELECTION The British election by giving the Government a. majority of about 500 have afforded a wonderful demonstration of the spirit by which the .people of Great Britain are inspired in a time of emergency. But in their zeal for the welfare of the country and in their recognition of the paramount importance of the national interests they have created a parliamentary situation of an extraordinary description of not a little difficulty.
