Edison’s heirs, that the inventor’s efforts to devise artificial rubber from the goldenrod plant, had proved successful, jthe Dupont Denemours Company have announced the development of “Duprene’’ -synthetic rubber. It >s a composition, that is made from acetylene, salt and water. “Duprene',” which may be vulcanised by the action of heat without sulphur, -is said to be most important in that it highly resists the action of such elements injurious to true rubber as oxygen, ozone, oil and petrol.
