ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS. Large taongregrjbians attiemdlad All Saints’ Anglican Church on -Sunday when its Paternal Festival was observed.

Holy Communion was celebrated at the morning services, while, at evensong, a choir rendered special settings of Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, and the Anthem “The Sun Shall No More Give Light.” A parish tea, to celebrate the 66th. anniversary of All Saints’ Church was held in the Parish Hall last evening. One hundred and twenty people sat down at six tables, .which were supplied by the Vestry, Mothers’ Union, Sunday School, Choir, Girls’ Club, and Young Men’s Culb. Each ..table was indicated by a fitting illustrated lal>el.

The birthday cake, of two tiers, and supporting 66 candles was cut by Mrs Stapleton and Mrs Lama-croft, assisted by Mr, J. O. Macfarlane. The birthday gift table was in charge of My T. R, Say well. The -guests were heartily welcomed by the Vicar; (the Rev. H. J. W. Knights), and-/ during, the' tea., musical items were contributed by Miss Lynn a.nd Mr Heinz.

A short history of the early days of the Parish was given by Air Wild, who referred to the time’s of Archdeacon Harper and others. Dr. Teichelmann, an enthusiastic alpinist, gave a most interesting a.nd instructive ljantern lecture on bird and plant life, and lake and mountain •scenery. In response to a hearty' vote of thanks,' Dr. Teichelmann consented to give another such address at a later, date.

Two songs were contributed by ■ Mr Arnold Perry, being played by Miss Giese.

At. the conclusion of the evening, a short dance was held.
