The “Evening Standard” sports writer says: “The Australians only hope of preventing cricketers from going over to league cricket is by the .recognition of professionalism.!” A diarist says: “It is disquieting to find New Zealanders praising England’s older bowleus in preference to Verity, Cowes a.nd Brown, it seems unbJisputable that England’s ai}t of bowling has declined. Wie fear we shall be helpless against the Australians strong batting in 1932, unless better attack develops than a;t present seems likely.
