Although official announcement will be withheld lor some days, it is learnt on good authority that et has selected Wednesday 2nd December, as the date for the general elections. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 31. The Christchurch Executive* of the United Political Party, at a meeting held last evening, decided to give full support to the Coalition Government, and to stand in loyally with the arrangements made by’ the Party leaders in regard to the nomination of, candidates for the Canterbury seats. A committee was set up to meet the Reform- executive in order to make plana for the election campaign.
