PARTY BARGAINS.

INVERCARGILL, October 30

Air George Agnew, who was recently selected as the Official Reform Candidate for Invercargill, announces that, in response to the representations from a large body of Reform supporters, he has decided to accede

to their request that he should offer himself as am Independent Reform candidate at the coming poll. Air Agnew states that his decision is arrived at, not in any spirit of disloyalty to the Refrom Party, which he had consistently supported, hut solely in deference to the wishes of his local supporters. AUCKLAND, October 30.

A conference of United and Reform

Auckland Provincial executives agreed on Coalition candidate® for twenty- , two of • tine twenty-four Auckland seats. Nine Reform and seven United sitting members were endorsed. | The Reformers, Allen Bell, S. Rieid and R. Marryatt were endorsed as the Coalition candidates for the Bay of Islands, Raglan, and Auckland subi urbs.

United, W. H. Murray and W. R. Wackroy were endorsed for Grey Lynn and Waimarino.

The Uniteds will also contest Auckland Central. The two .seats undecided, Auckland West and Mamukau, were left for negotiation. Reformers, j, A. Allen and S. Richards, have Been announced a® respective candidates, but the United hove to secure an agreement to the nomination' of therir candidates, in. which case the candidatures in 24 seats of the Province will he equally divided between the parties.

At a meeting of the Awarua Reform supporters to-night it was decided to ask the Leader of the Reform Party, Mr Coates, to come to SoubtJand, for the purpose of explaining the position with' regard! to the selection of Official Coalition candidates. • • • • MOTUEKA' ELECTORATE. ' Air K. Holyoake has been notified that he lias been adopted as Official Government, candidate, agreed upon by the Reform and United Parties, for the Motueka seat.
