A CANADIAN REPORT.
STRIKE RESENTED
VANCOUVER, October 30.
Consternation is expressed here at the attempt to hold up the Aorangi and Niagara, especially as Canada is holding its Australian “good will week.” Any attempt to interfere wiith the Aorangi and Niagara will surely be accomplished here by a demand that they he placed on Canadian articles, with Canadian personnel. Canada. with its greatly-increased world trade, has not had any serious shipping hold up in living memory, and people are unable to appreciate any hindrance to an expeditious carriage of passengers, mails and freight exactly to schedule. COMPULSORY CONFERENCE. (Received this day at 9.25 o.m) SYDNEY - , Ocober 31. The Prime Minister communicated with parties to the shipping dispute, intimating he will convene a compulsory conference before Judge Dethridge, Meantime shipowners are asked to make no appeal for volunteer labour.
