SHOT BY INDIAN
A CALCUTTA MERCANT
(United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received this dav at 12.25. p m . CALCUTTA, October 29. Edward Villiers, a Calcutta merchant and President of the European Association of India, narrowly escaped assassination while talking to two Britishers in his office. A young lndi;m rushed into the room and fired three shots, one striking Villiers in the side of the body. The assailant was captured by Europeans.
