THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29th. (Before W. Meldrum, Esq., S.M.) DEBT CASES. Judgment for plaintiff was given in the following cases: Grant and Fowler (Mr Elcock) v. Steve Wallace, claim £1 Its with costs 28s. W. Jeffries v. W. J. Johnson, claim £43 6s 6d with costs £3 3s 6d. Turner and Go. (Mr Park) v. G. Bell, claim £2 4s 4d, with costs 23s 6d. Westland Hospital Board (Mr Elcock) v. Ivy Jones cArim £7 12s with costs 25s 6d. Same v. H. Reid, claim £lO 4s and costs £2 14s. Same v. Wm, Howe, ,claim £1 7s and costs Bs. Same v, <Thos. Fr&itas, claim £3 5s 6d and costs 245. Same v. James Allen, claim £8 and costs 3Cs 6d. Same v. Geo. Neiman, claim £4 19s and costs 25s 6d. Same v. Thos. Ward, claim £3 3s 6d and costs 23s 6d. Westland Hospital Board (Mr Elcock) v. Elsie Manera judgment summons £2O fis.—No order made. licensing act. The police charged the following with being found unlawfully on licensed premises after hours.— One resident '(All Nations Hotel, Rimu). Fined 20s and costs IDs. Two young men (Royal Mail Hotel, Woodstock). One fined 203 and costs 10s, the other to pay 10s costs. CYCLING WITHOUT LIGHT. J. Nancekivell was charged with using a bicycle at night without light or reiflector. Fined 5s and costs 205.ADJOURNED. The charge by the Inspector of Fisheries against T. Spoor and others in connection with ’ whitebait trenches, "as adjourned to next sitting owing to counsel for the defence (Air Brosrian) being engaged at- Greymouth. UNEMPLOYMENT TAX. The Inspector under the Unemployment Act (F. G. Davies) charged Geoige White with failure to pay the unemployment tax. Defendant pleaded guilty. The Inspector stated no payments had been made by defendant. Defendant had since paid die levies and fines. Convicted and fined 5s and costs 13s 9d. Same v. Leonard White, a similar charge. A. plea of guilty was entered, no payments having been made. Convicted and fined 5s and costs 13s 8d and ordered to pay levies and fines £1 13s. FAILURE TO REPORT. The police charged, Wm, Newton (Air jElcock) with failure to comply with a probation order issued in November 1929.—Adjourned for three mouths.
