THEFT CHARGES. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association j CHRISTCHURCH, October 28. fn the Supreme Court before Judge Kennedy, the trial is proceeding ot James Thomas Toomey and Murdoch Kenneth Campbell, jointly charged that between May 1 and June, while clerks in the Post and Telegraph Department they stole various sums, amounting to £228, -the property ot the Government. Both pleaded not guilty. The Crown said that the accused worked in the telephone section where the toll accounts' were paid. Toomey had been teller.
