CROQUET
HOKITIKA LADIES’ CLUB. A largely attended and most enthusiastic meeting of the Hokitika Ladies’ Croquet Club was held in the Town Hall yesterday afternoon, Mrs A. Parkhill being in the chair. The following officers were elected:— . Captain, Mg’s T. R. Say well; Deputy Captain, Mrs J. Conning Committee, Mesdames W. J. Butler, S. Preston, J. N. Robinson, A. Benjamin, A. Parkhill. Treasurer, Mrs R. Paterson; Secretary, Mrs A. W. Yaj*| .rail. After discussing the various sites submitted, it was decided to apply immediately to the Borough Council for lease of their reserve at the corner ot Stafford and Jollie Streets. Ac the next meeting to be held on Thursday, 29th, it is to b e hoped to finalise matters and all members and intending members are asked to attend and so help to'promote the Club which will be a big asset to the town.
