FATAL ACCIDENT

A.s the Limited Express from Aucklanu was pulling into Taumaranui at midnight, Mrs Emma Dixon Crawford, aged 56, wife of Arthur Crawford ot Ponsonby Road. Auckland,' while waiting to alight from the recess of one of the new De Luxe carriages, overbalanced and fell on to the track. The carriage moved half its length along the platform after she fell, and when extricated it was found that Mrs Crawlord was dead, apparently having been struck by the gear box and wedged beneath. The tjrain was delayed for nalt an hour.
