TRAINER’S SUDDEN DEATH. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, October 22. Richard Albert Pea use, a, horse trainer, aged 62, employed by D. P. Mahoney, died suddenly at Rangiora ■. racecourse this morning. He was exercising a trotter, when ,he suddenly throw up his hands and fell out of the sulky. When picked up he was dead from heart failure, it is presumed. AN. INQUEST. WELLINGTON, October 22. An inquest was concluded to-day oh the death of James Gilmour, a City Council employee, who was crushed between two lorries in Ngalmranga Gorge on October 3rd. An open verdict was returned. The lorries were in charge of C. O. Mexted and R. Park, respectively, Mexted being the- driver of the lorry which came round the corner. LIFEBOUY PICKED UP. WELLINGTON, October 22. /. .A" ship’s life-bony was picked up yesterday on Maka-ra beach. It has no name marked on it, but it is thought it may have some bearing on, the fate of the Kotiti. The opinion has grown in shipping c.ircles that the Kotiti came to an end in the neighbourhood of West Haven inlet, just south-west of Cape Farewell., being either overwhelmed in a heavy -sea or through the springing of a serious leak.
