At to-day’s wool sales at Sydney 11,844 bales were offered, 11,449 being sold. There also were 2,070 bales disposed of privately. The sale proceeded under keen general competition. The market for all lines of average quality ruled from par to five per cent, higher. Finer descriptions advanced five to seven per cent. The improvement was most accentuated on skirtings. Comebacks and crossbreds were in very keen request at enhanced prices. Greasy merino made 15f pence.
