ROSS FIRE BRIGADE

The Ross Fire Brigade meeting was held on Wednesday, and a lull attendance of members were present. Tt was decided to send a team of seven to Westport to compete* at the demonstration to lie held there on Saturday, 30th. inst., and Lieutenant W. E. Clark was appointed delegate to the conference at Westport. Two tenders were received for conveying the party to Westport, that of Mr J. Hatisburv being accepted. The Secretary was instructed to arrange accommodation for the team at Westport. The following honours were presented to members:—Captajn McKay received two silver bars on completing 21 years’ service: Lieutenant Clarke 2 gVdd bars on completing 29 years’ service Fireman A. Mason, two silver bars, after 19 years’ service: Secretary A. \\ . Peebles, two silver bars after 19 years’ service; Fireman J. A'hleson, one silver bar after 7 years’ service; Fireman L. Adamson, one silver bar, alter seven years service; Fireman Robert Parker, one silver bar. after seven years' servic-*; Fireman W. .T. Bhu-klnw, medal fofive years’ service; Fireman A. Parker. ’ medal for five years’ service; Fireman R. Richards, medal bo- five veal's’ service; Fireman das. Houlahan, medal for five vent's’ service; I‘ireimm A. Head, Certificate; and Fireman L Bridgman. Certificate.
