M AGISTRATK’S WARN IXG. 15 GET GAOL. (By Telegruph —Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 16. 1 15 men were convicted by’ Magistrate Hunt to-day of procuring lawlessness in respect of a recent eviction in the city and were sentenced to -imprisonment. William John Budd, 31, described as the leader received three months and the others one month each. This is not a case of a political gesture, said Mr Hunt, but premeditated, armed resistance against law and order and I am going to put that .sort of thing down. Sub-Inspector Gibson read an unsigned tvped letter found in Build’s suitcase reading.—“ Dear l’at, George is going away lor a day or two. Can’t you and some one else catch him before too late. Feel sure lit is he who has been giving information to the police. Why not crack him on the head and finish him, and do service, to me and the movement." Mr 'Flunt said many ot the accused were absolute criminals. He told all ol them to get to Work on leaving gaol Ol- he would sentence them again.
