PLUNKET SHIELD. DUNEDIN, October 12 The Otago Cricket Association tonight accepted December 25th, 26th, 28th. and 29th as the dates of the Otago - Canterbury Plunket Shield match. It was also decided to suggest that tlie Otago-Auckland match should be played at the New Year. In view of the circulation of a report that the Otago team iniglit not be able to tour on account of financial difficulties, a statement was made by the chairman that the Association had never at any time bad the intention of defaulting.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON. October 12. The Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association to-night appointed Messrs W. A. Aldrrley. K. C. .James, and L. I'. Cobcroft as a selection committee for representative teams this season.
Auckland suggested that the Plunket Shield Match between Auckland and Wellington should commence at Wellington on January 22nd. as Otago had been invited to play at Auckland on the Christmas dates. The Christmas and New Year dates in Auckland had always been of ' great benefit to the touring team. It was decided to communicate with Auckland again alter the Northern Association had completed its negotiai ions with Otago.
