lluther Chatterton and Clive Brook, the delightful co-starring team or “Charming Sinners,” are co-starred in a new Paramount all-talking drama, “The Better Wife,” commencing tonight at the Princess Theatre. Based on Gouverneur Morris’ wellknown story of the same name, rt boasts a powerful dramatic situation. Expertly directed and splendidly interpreted hv the cast, ‘‘The Better Wife should prove to be one of the most entertaining pictures of the nen theatrical season. In this new Paramount production, Miss Chatterton meets Neil Dunlap (Clive Brook), a brilliant attorney who, heartbroken because of his divorced wife’s marriage to a multi-mil-lionaire, proposes to Pansy, declaring that even she would be a better wife to him than his money-crazed first wife. Front this point on. the picture’s action takes a, highly dramatic turn as Pansy, married to a man she has honestly fallen in love with, fights desperately to take her rightful place in her husband’s world. Miss Chatterton as Pansy adds another notable screen characterisation to her. list of successes. Playing with sympathy and understanding, this noted actress of the stage and screen reaches new heights in a role that already is being called the finest, characterisation of her career. And Clive Brook -in the role of Neil Dunlap once again give a flawless, finely drawn performance Others in the cast who do good work are Paul Lukas, Juliette ! Compton, Huntly Gordon and Tom Patricola.
