THIRD ROUND. (By Teleyraph —Per Press Association) ROTORUA, October 12. The third round of the NZ.. Ladies Championship was played to-day in excellent weather. The course was a little heavy after Hooding by heavy min yesterday afternoon, but was practically dry at midday. Public interest was divided between the games ol M.iss (). Ray v. Airs Deighton and Miss Gaisford v. Miss Pharazyn. Miss Kiiv won seven and six, the game proving an easy victory, despite her not being up to form. /Miss Gainsford won six and five taking the lead from the start, and winning without effort. In the game, Airs Guy AAililams v. Airs Gower, the former though wfnjng by only three and two, was easily the steadiest of the two. Results: —Alis.s Upton heat A kiss Chrystall 4 and 3: Aliss Loughnan beat Airs Rerguson 2 up: Airs Cooke beat Airs N. Curtis 5 and 3; ATiss Kay beat Airs Deighton 7 and 6; Airs AVilliams beat- Airs Gower 3 and 2; Airs Hosking beat Alls Slee 2 and 1 : Aliss B. Gainsford beat Afiss Pharazyn 6 and 5: Airs Stout beat ATiss Af. Ward 4 and 3.
LONDON. October 11. Britain defeated France by eight and a-lialf matches to a half, in the first women’s golf international iii the United Kingdom.
