DISQUALIFIED FOR LIFE
MONEY SPIDER RUNG IN AS LANDLOCK.
Further news is to hand in respec*t of the trotter Land lock, which was recently stolen from the police barracks Melbourne. Before the horse disappeared the Victorian Trotting and Racing Association had proved definitely that the gelding was the ex-New Zealander, Money Spider, and the secretary of that body announced: “The committee of the Victorian Trotting and Racing Association decided to disqualify J. A. Dempsey, owner, end the bay gelding Money Spider, alias Landloek, for life. It transpired that Money Spicier went to Leefon, N.S.W. ultimately working his way down to Melbourne winning .races at several country meetings. Money Spicier was one of the best-known trotters in N.ew Zealand, being tlie winner of a Dominion Handicap and taking a record of 4.25 1-5 ait the 1929 August Meeting at Addington. Fie was raced only twice subsequently and was shipped to Australia. on June 15th. 1930. There a’e many Melbourne trotting enthusiasts who pay regular v'sits to New Zealand and as Money Spider was of a type to make him easily recognisab’e, it w"s a hopelessly risky venture to try to ring him in.
