The “Post” says: “Sir John Monasii was another of tho small, steadily-di-minishing hand of great soldiers. England, no less than Australia, recalls with pride the remarkable genius for constructive leadership, which he displayed in one of the great battles in history. General Ludendorf himself, admitted that the Australians’ break through at Hamel was Germany’s black day, and the turning point of the war. Sir J. Monash’s brilliant handling of sixty tanks established that weapon as the spearhead of the Allies’ assault. Sir John Monash, in a literary sense led the way to victory,
