The Chicago World Fair authorities are discussing a plan by which the rays of light from Arcturus which left that star 40 years iy»o, during the World Fair of 1893, riiay be captured, converted, amplified, and used to start machinery in the ’Hall of Science at the opening of the fair on June 1, 1933. It is hoped to accomplish this feat by Collecting the light rays in a telescope and passing them through a photomefer connected with an electrometer, which in turn will be connected with the switches controlling the machinery.
