WELLINGTON, October 7. The Arbitration Court to-day gave judgment for the plaintiff in which Florence May -Radcliffe, widow, claimed one thousand pounds, and fifty pounds funeral expenses, from the Canadian Knight and Whippet MotorCompany, arising from the death of her husband when a car he was driving from Wellington to Wanganui ran off the road and overturned, the accident, it being claimed, arising out of and in the course of deceased's employment. The Company's defence was that the deceased was receiving over £4OO a year—salary £529 11s 7d, and commission £l2l. The Court accepted the argument that expenses had to be deducted. .Mr l’errv, for the defendants, sub-
mitted that there was a question of law involved, and asked His Honour to state a case for the Court of Appeal. His Honour said that, once the Court I had given its th°re vs no question of stating a case. However, If Mr Perry did find an authority on l ,fhe matter, he would certa-inlv allow lan opportunity of having the point | discussed further.
