Leckie had a considerable lead on points and had all the advantage in the open fighting. Bell was at his best in the in-fighting. PALMER V, HANNABERRY.

At the Sydney Stadium in the wel-ter-weight championship of Australia of fifteen rounds, Ambrose Palmer gained a points decision and thus retains the title in a bout against Fred Ha mulberry, who is rapidly coming to the fore. Hannaberry gave Palmer a lot of punishment and in the final thn»e rounds, he fought so desperately tnat his admirers thought that Palmer would he unable to withstand his onslaught. The crowd was one of 8,000 and they were on their tiptoes right throughout the bout. The crowd expected a draw to he awarded and a section hooted the decision.
