A fine of £2O and., an’ order for the cancellation of his driving license for six months was the penalty imposed on Christian Diegaand Nielson, aged 51; company manager, by Mr McNeil, S.M., for being intoxicated while in charge of a car. NELSON COLLEGE CADETS. ■ NELSON, October 3. Addressing the Nelson College cadets, Lieutenant-Colonel -Nicholls, Commandent of the Southern Command, stressed the '■> importance of the work in the secondary school cadets. He hoped . the - < boys would continue training after leaving college. On returning to their homes in, all parts of ; New Zealand, they would be' valuable to various lotfaT territorial units, v: as,-‘ they had received such an excellent - grounding, enabling them to proceed with advanced, and technical work straight away. He was thoroughly convinced that the Nelson College cadets are still the best in the Dominion.
