UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD
SOUTH ISLAND TRIP. (By Telegraph—Per Prea» Association) WELLINGTON, October 4. . The members of the Unemployment. Board left for the South on Saturday' evening to investigate various rel-ef works and related matters. They intended to travel to Dunedin to-night,, afterwards proceeding to Invercargill to-morrow. It is understood the Board will inspect the ICingstown-Queenstown road, work on which was discontinued when it was planned to get a new steamer for the Lake, service. Now ithis proposal has been abandoned. It i 9 believed to be likely that the road will therefore be completed, providing good motor communication between Southland and the Cold Lakes district.
