OBITUARY
SIR THOMAS LIPTON. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, October 3. The death occurred yesterday of Sir Thomas l.iplon, the famous yachtsman. He passed away in li.s sleep as the resu t. of heart failure. Aged 81 years.’ Sir ‘Thomas Lipton caught a chill last week when motoring. He was attendee by four doctors. He had planned to sail to-day on a short business trip to the United States

Sir Thomas Lipton will be buried on October 7th in the humble family grave at - Glasgow, thus fulfilling h : s lifelong wish to rest with his mother, for whom he had the greatest affection. His will at present ’is not revealed, but it is known that he was an errand boy and started at half a crown weekly and died a millionaire,
Sir Thomas Lipton made many munificent bequests to charity.
