IN THE BALTIC,
(United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.--Copyright.)
STOCKHOLM, October 1. The rival smuggling gangs in tlie Gulf of Finland have embarked on a career of murderous revenge, recalling Chicago at its worst. A motorship carrying spirits was mined, and file were drowned, including Captain Malmberg, Sweden’s “Bootleg King.” Next day a motorship explored at almost the same spot, killing four. The police are convinced that it was mined by Malniberg’s gang in revenge for their leader’s death. Finally a police boat, hurrying to the scenes to investigate, was wrecked and the crew were drowned, including a. detective. The deathroll in the bootleggers war is thus far .fourteen.
