WELLING'. ON, October 1

.On Wednesday the competition that was opened by the Post and Telegraph Department for the designing of a new issue of postage and -revenue stamps, ranging in fifteen denominations from id to 3s, closed, but actually most of the designs had coine to hand a good deal earlVr. Hundreds of designs have been received from all parts of the world and the Government will set up a Board to select designs for the different issues.
